Must Read: Letter to God from Orahii Smith

LETTER TO GOD
Dear God,
Until I heard the news of the death of my favorite Nollywood star Justus Esiri penultimate tuesday, I had always wonder why you take away any superstar I consider as my favorite. But now, I have realized it is because the people I consider as my favorites are always truly good.

My conviction is strengthened on the belief that you take away good people to everlasting eternity, giving the bad ones chances to turn good as it is not in your desire for your children to perish on the last day.

On August 28, 2009, you took away Michael Jackson, one of my favorite Pop artiste, just a day before he would turn 51 years. How I wish tears could revive the speechless singer, but it was not to be.

On the 8th of August, 2011, my Sam Loco Efe turned corpse. I rebuked the news when I first read it on BBC, wishing it was a coincidence of name; even though I knew my funny Locomotive Efe was ill & hospitalized. I was pained, but he was buried.

As if the harvest of my favorites was at hand, my courageous Spartacus; Andy Whitfield, barely a month of my Locomotive grieving, passed on in September. Compounded in grief, confused & helpless, I wouldn't let a gist of his demise from friends and sympathizers who knew how dear his act was to me.

28 February, 2012 recorded the transition unto glory of The Masquerade's Gringory, James Iroha, famous for his Calabar accent mimic. I pause reading the predicament that surrounded his demise in 'The Entertainers Magazine' when I saw how he become blind and died reached in a rented apartment.

Yet again, Pete Eneh, the always simple Nollywood cast marked present in the Lord on November 15th, 2012. The ink was yet to dry up; as the teary cheeks of some mourners were still fresh. I refused to grieve because it had earned me nothing in the past. I only pray God should grant him eternal rest.

The euphoria of my Xmas festivities was almost cut short on the 5th day of December, 2012 by the announcement of the obituary of Chief Enebeli Elebuwa. '2012 the year of my favorite harvest' was all I concluded. I thought Elebuwa would close the harvest gate for several years.

Then the February 19th news about Justus Esiri.

Please God, I know your plan is to keep my favorite entertainers in the place we will meet to part no more, but daddy, since you have repeatedly visit the entertainment industry in recent years, I pray you consider other fields, because I realize I have favorites in other fields too, who are equally good people.

I like politics & also have favorite politicians such as OBJ, IBB, GEJ...etc. They are very good people. I like them.
Thank you daddy and I hope to hear from you again soon. Amen
the ending part is really funny...lol
