Chinua Achebe Dies Aged 82

 

Renowned Poet and Novelist and author of Africa's most widely read prose 'Things Fall Apart',  Professor Chinua Achebe is dead.  The Professor who had been ill for a while died in a Boston hospital in  Massachusetts last night after not recovering from coma. His demise was confirmed by fellow poet and playwright Professor Wole Soyinka.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Governor Akpabio Purchases Million-Dollar Bullet Proof Luxury Van

Just months after purchasing a $45 million dollar jet, and a few days after recklessly doling out several thousands of dollars to Nigerian music star, 2Face and his wife, Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio has taken possession of several bulletproof sprinter luxury vans from US based Texas Armoring Corporation (TAC).

Barcelona Fan Beheads Friend For Supporting Real Madrid

According to a report in Baghdad newspaper Al Zaman, carried by Spanish newspaper Sport, passion between rival fans spilled over into violence and murder this week.

On Monday, a Barcelona supporter in Madain — a city a few miles south of Baghdad — supposedly argued with a Real Madrid-supporting friend in a gaming arcade. The Barca fan then reportedly "slaughtered" his friend with a knife, in full view of several witnesses.

Popular Ghanaian dancehall act Samini has verbally dissed Psquare's hit song alingo stating that it’s a rip off from the popular ‘Azonto’ dance.

Samini just released a remix of the twins’ chart topping single calling his version ‘Azonto’. Freestyling over a similar beat, Samini sings ‘the name sounds like azonto, the dance kind of look like azonto, so please tell me something I don’t know‘.

Spiderman's New Costume

The latest film is set to see the comic book hero take on a new set of foes,  including Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino and Dane DeHaan as Peter's pal turned enemey Harry Osborn.
It will also see Shailene Woodley join the cast as Mary-Jane Watson, who may provide a love rival for the first movie's romantic interest Gwen Stacey, played of course by Garfield's real life belle Stone.
The film is scheduled for release on May 2 2014.

Hit-maker D’Tunes parts ways with Iyanya

Hit producer who was behind Iyanya's biggest hit tracks such as Kukere, Ur Waist and Flavour has reportedly part ways with the singer and his label MMMG (Made Men Music Group) to start up his own record outfit Difference Entertainment.

No reasons have been given by both camps but D’Tunes through his reps says he’s moving on to other tasks to accomplish as his work with MMMG is a glaring success.
